Mindfulness and the Black Community

Dr. Natalie Watson-Singleton joins me for this discussion on mindfulness in the Black community. Dr. Natalie is a mental health expert and renowned speaker, researcher, and clinician. She is a psychology professor at Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia and the Diversity and Inclusion Education Director with Emory University Department of Psychiatry. In these roles, Dr. Natalie sustains an active research program investigating how stress and cultural factors influence African Americans’ mental health attitudes and behaviors as well as how to tailor mental health services to address African Americans’ mental health needs. Also, as a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Natalie is the founder of NWS Wellness and Consulting, a psychological practice that specializes in providing evidence-based and culturally-responsive psychological and wellness care to organizations and individuals.
